DESIGN

Oftentimes advice given with respect to regulatory structuring and policy is largely based on the “wisdom of the moment.” Indeed, rarely is advice tailored to the specific profile of the agency or market to which it is delivered.  ALIGN can offer knowledgeable comments on internal or external advice on regulatory framework issues, and insights on how different styles and structures have suited different institutions and institutional needs.

For example:

Every market needs a robust regulatory and enforcement infrastructure if it wants to be a good citizen of the international regulatory community. But, each jurisdiction must assess its needs and design its approach to fit within the local legal framework or to identify what parts of that framework need to be changed to meet international benchmarks. Institutions may need external support to avoid taking on structural design costs that are inappropriate or likely to be ineffective.

Operational or management silos may prevent prompt and innovative approaches to regulatory issues or disguise potential risks. In such a case, senior management and Board level strategists may need additional external support to introduce regulatory and compliance systems to bridge or mitigate potential gaps.
